About the Role
We are seeking two High Voltage Control Room Operators to manage the monitoring, operation, and upkeep of electrical assets such as boilers, transformers, switching equipment, and high-voltage distribution systems. The position is responsible for ensuring that all work aligns with safety, environmental, regulatory, and contract requirements.
This is a permanent full-time role based on site in Kawerau, Rotorua. The standard requirement is 48 working hours each week.

Key Duties
- Oversee the real-time operation of the electricity network to support a safe, reliable, secure, and uninterrupted customer supply
- Perform routine operating checks and tests
- Hold and use an EWRB Licence
- Trigger fault restoration and emergency response actions when required
- Work closely with a nationwide team of Electrical Services professionals and communicate updates with supervisors, team leaders, and colleagues
- Monitor power generation plant activity and interpret instrument readings
- Prepare reports and keep accurate records covering equipment performance, instrument readings, and switching activities
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication skills, sound analytical thinking, and the ability to stay calm, make timely decisions, and perform well under pressure.
It would also be advantageous if you bring experience in electricity distribution networks or an industrial/commercial environment, along with control room experience or familiarity with the Vector network. A strong commitment to health and safety is essential.
