About the GPAP Program
The role sits under the Graduate Professionals Apprenticeship Program (GPAP), a practical skilling initiative designed to give graduates, career changers, and holiday makers the equivalent of 2 years of experience within a 3-month period. The program is intended to accelerate career growth through mentorship, coaching, exposure, valuable connections, and improved job readiness. Participants may begin earning before the program ends, and committed participants are said to have an 80% likelihood of job placement afterward. GPAP is selective and admits only 5 participants per cohort each month.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Human Resource Trainee position based in Kampala. The start date is July 1, 2026. The trainee will support day-to-day HR operations, including policy implementation, employee benefits administration, recruitment assistance, employee records management, orientation support, and HR project work.
Key Duties
- Support routine human resource management activities.
- Help put HR policies into practice across the organization.
- Assist with managing employee benefits and personnel-related records.
- Contribute to recruitment activities and candidate handling.
- Help organize and deliver employee orientation sessions.
- Maintain accurate employee documentation and files.
- Support employee relations tasks and HR initiatives.
- Assist with ongoing HR projects and related assignments.
Qualifications and Preferred Background
A background in management is considered sufficient for eligibility. Applicants should either be studying toward or have completed a qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Prior exposure to a startup or innovation-driven environment will be an added advantage.

- Knowledge of HR practices, HR management, and HR policy application.
- Familiarity with employee benefits administration and personnel management.
- Understanding of recruitment workflows and employee relations.
- Interest in enterprise development and technology innovation.
- Good organizational and communication abilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
