Your Role
We are seeking an ambitious and driven Graduate of Architecture to join the Brisbane studio. This position offers exposure to a wide mix of sectors, including commercial and industrial work, while contributing to project delivery within a collaborative team. You will work closely with the Brisbane Senior Architect on a day-to-day basis and also benefit from the wider experience of teams in other offices, giving you a chance to influence project outcomes early in your career.
This is a strong opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full project journey, from concept development through documentation and delivery, while strengthening your capability, confidence and professional network.
Although a full-time hire is preferred, flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. Applicants are encouraged to outline their preference when applying.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned project work to the required brief, schedule and budget across commercial, mixed-use and large retail developments.
- Prepare and support project documentation, specifications and schedules through all stages, from early design through to construction.
- Coordinate with project teams and keep Senior Architects, Senior Project Leaders and Associates informed on progress.
- Participate in site inspections and assist with contract administration and construction-stage liaison.
- Develop productive relationships with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Bring thoughtful ideas and a practical design perspective to the project team.
- Help with project coordination tasks such as agendas, minutes and general administration.
- Continue building architectural capability through learning, mentoring and the Watson Young Career POD process.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working on commercial, mixed-use and/or large retail projects; industrial project experience is an advantage.
- Strong working ability in Revit, along with solid technical drawing and documentation skills.
- Practical understanding of the NCC, applicable Australian Standards and construction methods.
- A growth-oriented attitude and genuine appetite for learning, feedback and continuous improvement.
- Well organised, proactive and an effective communicator who is comfortable working collaboratively.
- Bachelor's or Master's qualification in Architecture, Architectural Design or a closely related field.
