ESPN Social Intern, Fall 2026

Role overview

This remote internship sits within ESPN and supports the way fans discover and engage with major sports moments across digital channels. You may contribute to one of several social teams, including ESPN NEXT Show Social, ESPN Social Media, or the ESPN YouTube team. The assignment period is expected to run from September through December 2026.

What you will do

• Build, schedule, refine, and publish content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, and ESPN-owned digital spaces.
• Assist with social coverage for ESPN shows by spotting standout moments and turning them into platform-specific posts.
• Cut, edit, and create short-form videos and visual assets using professional creative tools.
• Draft compelling social copy, including captions, headlines, and packaging text.
• Track sports trends and developing storylines to identify timely content opportunities.
• Use sound editorial judgment while working closely with production, editorial, and social media partners to maintain ESPN’s tone and standards.

Required qualifications

• A clear interest in social media, sports, or digital media shown through coursework, campus activities, personal projects, or past experience.
• Working knowledge of major social platforms and how content typically performs on each one.
• Strong sports awareness across players, teams, leagues, events, and current storylines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for each platform.
• Careful editorial judgment and a strong focus on accuracy and responsible publishing.
• Some experience with video editing or content creation tools, plus the ability to work well in a fast-moving setting.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience making or managing social content for a platform, student organization, personal account, or media outlet.
• Familiarity with editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar applications.
• Ability to create or refine social graphics in Photoshop or comparable design tools.
• Understanding of analytics and audience insights for measuring content performance.
• Experience finding, researching, and pitching ideas that support editorial and creative goals.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a deadline-heavy environment while staying current with trends and creator tactics.

Education

Senior year is preferred. A background in Journalism, Sports Media, Communications, or a related field is also preferred.

Eligibility and program requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, actively pursuing a degree, and taking at least one class at the time of application, or they must currently be part of a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Current Disney interns and participants in College, International, or Culinary programs may work for only one continuous year (12 months) across any combination of internship and/or program participation.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Unrestricted work authorization is required.

• The internship requires a dependable and consistent work schedule throughout the assignment.
• This is a remote position, so a stable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace are necessary.
• The role may involve different shifts, including nights and weekends, and is expected to total 40 hours per week for the full internship period.

Compensation and benefits

The pay rate for this remote role is $22.50 per hour. Some benefits may be included as part of the compensation package, depending on the level and position offered, such as medical, financial, and other benefits.
