ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
Join a green technology startup in Hamburg that builds algorithmic trading software for battery storage and renewable energy assets. In this role, you will help turn real European power-market data into analyses, simulations, and backtests that directly influence trading choices and customer-facing deliverables. You will sit within a newly forming data analytics track and work closely with an experienced analyst to establish the function and scale it further.
The team is growth-oriented, collaborative, and focused on supporting the energy transition through AI-driven optimization of storage and renewable participation in short-term electricity and balancing markets.
What you will do
- Execute backtests for storage-only and storage-plus-renewables configurations across different grid constraints, battery settings, and asset capacities.
- Evaluate new trading ideas before launch by converting features such as ramp control and aFRR logic into focused simulations.
- Maintain high-quality data pipelines and PV/wind generation profiles, identifying issues early and gradually translating older Excel-based processes into Python workflows.
- Independently retrieve, verify, and process data using SQL/PostgreSQL and Power Query rather than relying on others for source data.
- Investigate the drivers behind metrics such as capture-rate decomposition, asset sizing, and curtailment, and support trading, commercial, or operations teams with ad hoc analyses.
- Automate repetitive reporting tasks in Python to reduce manual effort across the broader team.
- Build and maintain dependable visual outputs for internal and external audiences using Plotly and Grafana dashboards.
- Support the company’s growth into additional European markets, including adapting simulation frameworks for Poland and Spain to match local rules and data formats.
What you bring
- Strong Python capability, including practical use of pandas, numpy, matplotlib or Plotly, and Jupyter notebooks, with code that others can extend.
- Solid SQL and PostgreSQL experience, including the ability to extract and validate data independently.
- Comfort working with time-series data, especially timezone handling, daylight saving time changes, and timestamp validation.
- Experience with CSV and JSON data flows, schema handling, and quality checks.
- Working knowledge of European energy markets and renewables, including market basics, generation and capture-rate concepts, and battery storage fundamentals.
- Exposure to recurring reporting automation in Python and structured KPI outputs, not just one-off charts.
- Nice-to-have experience with statistical methods and Grafana, such as decompositions, regressions, and dashboarding.
- Professional English skills at C1 level, as English is the day-to-day working language.
Working conditions and benefits
- Based in Hamburg with a hybrid setup of 2–3 onsite days per week.
- Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Annual salary range of €55,000 to €68,000.
- 30 days of vacation per year.
- Flexible home-office arrangements and adaptable working hours.
- Strategy offsites and onsite collaboration weeks.
- Yoga sessions, shared lunches, and after-work activities.
- Urban Sports Club membership, wellbeing check-ins, and mental health support.
- Office amenities including rooftop terrace, canteen, strong views, ergonomic desks, choice of hardware, and a pet-friendly workplace.
- Mobility and sustainability perks such as Deutschlandticket and FutureBens.
