Role Overview
Urbane Systems is seeking a Deskside Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position that requires working onsite five days a week. The role is intended for an experienced IT professional with active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 deskside or systems support to end users and enterprise systems.
- Handle Windows and macOS imaging, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Support users and devices in enterprise or federal operating environments.
- Work with on-premises Active Directory and cloud identity platforms such as Azure AD.
- Investigate and resolve endpoint connectivity and networking-related issues.
- Use endpoint and systems management tools such as MECM, Intune, or Jamf.
- Juggle multiple requests and priorities while keeping work accurate and detail-oriented.
- Communicate effectively with users and collaborate well across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of progressive IT experience supporting deskside or systems operations at Tier 2/3 level.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active Secret clearance is mandatory.
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows and macOS environments, including imaging and deployment processes.
- Solid understanding of networking basics and troubleshooting endpoint connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise support tools and user/device management platforms.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA certifications such as A+, Network+, or Security+.
- Microsoft certifications including MD-100, MCSA, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS environments.
- Exposure to PowerShell scripting or simple automation for support workflows.
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management practices.
- Background in federal or other highly regulated IT settings.
Additional Information
This role is full-time and requires onsite attendance in Washington, DC for five days each week. An active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are both required for consideration.
