Role overview

PT Asia Cocoa Indonesia is hiring a Cocoa Sustainability Assistant to help deliver the group’s sustainability programme, Good Cocoa & Beyond. The position supports strategic planning, programme coordination, and hands-on implementation to help the company meet its sustainability targets. The role works closely with the global Cocoa Sustainability Manager and project teams at origin to drive positive outcomes for cocoa farmers, cocoa-growing communities, and the wider supply chain.

Project management support

This role covers end-to-end support for project delivery, from drafting proposals and reports to reviewing budgets, tracking spending, and checking progress against planned targets. It also includes coordinating day-to-day project activities, working with partners to keep implementation on track, and monitoring project data, including KPI review and progress assessment.

Communications and marketing

The assistant will prepare sustainability strategy presentations for suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders, and develop communications materials such as videos, brochures, and social media content.

Programme management

Responsibilities include preparing and revising relevant policies and procedures, supporting strategy reviews and related framework updates, and assisting with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). This involves collecting and consolidating project information, analysing programme performance, preparing impact reports, and maintaining programme databases and frameworks.

Programme development

The position contributes to new project and initiative development aligned with the programme strategy, including identifying possible funding sources and drafting funding proposals.

Cross-functional liaison

The role requires regular coordination with trading and marketing teams to align on sustainability commitments.

Stakeholder management

The assistant will build and sustain working relationships with suppliers, customers, donors, civil society organisations, and industry groups.

Person specification

The ideal candidate should be organised, proactive, and able to work independently while managing several priorities at once. Strong project management, budgeting, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and communication skills are important. The role also calls for comfort working across functions, across cultures, and across time zones.

Experience and knowledge

Relevant experience should include planning and delivering projects, managing budgets and expenditure, tracking KPIs, preparing impact reports, and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Experience in rural or agricultural project delivery in Africa, Asia, or Latin America to support farming household livelihoods is desirable, as is prior work with multicultural teams across time zones and cross-functional groups. Knowledge of agricultural supply chains, corporate responsibility, sustainable sourcing, and key sustainability themes such as third-party certification, living income, human rights, climate change, and traceability is also desirable.

Skills and language

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. The role also requires strong IT capability, including data handling and database maintenance, plus solid written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal ability. Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an advantage.

Behavioural attributes

The company is looking for someone who can work with initiative, adapt easily, collaborate well in a team, manage competing deadlines, and bring energy and enthusiasm to the role.

Education and training

A degree in a relevant field is required. A master’s degree or equivalent higher qualification in a relevant subject is desirable, along with project management training and sustainability-related training.

Application instructions

Applicants should send a complete resume that includes work experience, qualifications, current salary, and expected salary to GCB Cocoa Singapore Pte. Ltd., HR & Admin Department, 2 Venture Drive, #11-12 Vision Exchange, Singapore 608526, or use the provided email contact and phone number for correspondence.
