Role Overview
We are hiring a qualified Chartered Accountant to own finance, accounting, payroll, and compliance for the India business from our Mohali office. This is a practical, end-to-end finance position suited to someone who can work independently in a fast-paced setup and keep operations accurate, compliant, and well documented.
The role acts as the main finance liaison between the India and U.S. teams and covers day-to-day accounting, payroll for more than 100 employees, vendor payments, statutory filings, reporting, audits, and process improvement.
Work Location and Schedule
Location: Mohali, Punjab, India
Work mode: On-site
Shift: Day shift, 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM IST
Reporting to: GM India
Core Responsibilities
You will manage the complete accounting cycle for the India entity, prepare monthly financial statements, supervise payroll activities, and ensure all tax and statutory obligations are completed on time. The role also includes coordination with auditors, support for budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining clear records and MIS reports.
Compliance and Taxation
This position requires hands-on ownership of TDS, GST, PF, ESI, income tax, Companies Act compliance, FEMA-related matters, and other applicable statutory obligations. You will be responsible for accurate filings, timely submissions, and maintaining compliance documentation.
Systems, Reporting, and Controls
The role also involves working closely with the U.S. accounting team on intercompany reconciliations, cost allocations, and consolidated reporting support. You will help improve accounting systems and automate processes wherever possible to improve accuracy, transparency, and control.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a qualified CA with strong ownership, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently handle full finance operations for a mid-sized organization. Strong communication skills, a high level of reliability, and a disciplined approach to recordkeeping are important for success in this role.
Tools and Platforms
Exposure to Zoho Books is required, and experience with Tally, QuickBooks, Excel, Google Sheets, GST and income tax portals, EPF/ESI/MCA portals, and Google Workspace/Slack will be useful.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured by accurate and timely payroll, error-free compliance filings, on-schedule reporting, strong audit outcomes, and well-maintained intercompany records.
Additional Responsibilities
- Run full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger management.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Coordinate payroll processing for a team of 100+ employees with HR and Finance Operations.
- Handle vendor management, invoice processing, payments, and expense reimbursements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning activities.
- Maintain MIS reports, financial documents, and compliance records.
- Generate invoices for international clients and manage LUT-related compliance for export of services.

Employment type: Full-time
Compensation budget: INR 8 LPA to 13 LPA
This is a hands-on role with accountability for the entire finance function, including accounting, payroll, audits, and statutory compliance.
