Job purpose
This role supports the engineer in carrying out airframe and engine maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft. It involves helping with inspections, repairs, defect rectification, and component changes so aircraft remain safe, service-ready, and operationally available.
The technician is expected to complete assigned maintenance work accurately and promptly, while following Air Arabia procedures, applicable regulatory standards, and all required safety and airworthiness practices.
Key responsibilities
Operational execution
- Discuss assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge before starting so the work scope, priorities, paperwork, and precautions are fully understood.
- Carry out scheduled aircraft maintenance in line with the assigned task cards, making sure the correct documents, parts, tools, and ground support equipment are available and used as instructed.
- Perform aircraft tests and inspections to the required standard in order to identify and record defects or damage under approved maintenance procedures.
- Complete repairs, component replacements, and tests exactly as directed by the task cards and the Engineer-in-Charge, using approved data and procedures.
- Obtain tools and equipment from stores as needed for the task and return everything in proper condition once the work is finished.
- Keep the Engineer-in-Charge updated on task progress and immediately raise any concerns related to aircraft condition or work execution.
- Maintain strong housekeeping standards across all maintenance activities.
Safety
- Take ownership of safety while performing assigned maintenance, including observing all mandatory precautions before and during the job.
- Protect yourself and others in the work area by using the correct ground support equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Apply human factors principles by following interruption-control practices and ensuring suitable access and lighting during maintenance and inspections.
Teamwork and service
- Support team members and other departments involved in scheduled maintenance checks by sharing useful information and assistance.
- Represent the company professionally and positively when dealing with other organizations’ staff and customers.
Cost consciousness
- Stay mindful of maintenance cost impact, including time and material usage.
- Avoid waste, unnecessary part damage, and repeat work to help reduce consumable and repair costs.
Qualifications and experience
- Must be a qualified and experienced civil aircraft maintenance technician.
- Should be able to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough for technical communication.
- Must be comfortable using a computer, including Microsoft Office.
- Should be able to obtain a UAE driving license.
- At least 2 years of experience maintaining large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus aircraft.
- At least 2 years of experience in a line maintenance or base maintenance environment.
- Should have a solid basic understanding of airframe and engine maintenance theory and practical application.

This position is based in Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates and is a full-time, onsite role.
