About the Role

Our client is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Art to help define how the brand appears across the world. This position is centered on visual leadership, original thinking, and strong craft. You will do more than oversee creative output—you will actively shape it, from the earliest idea through final delivery.

The right person is equally focused on the strength of the concept and the quality of its execution. You should bring a clear point of view, refined taste, and the ability to turn ideas into work that feels deliberate, polished, and memorable. The role also calls for an interest in creating work that extends beyond digital screens into physical environments, activations, and live experiences.

This position may be based in New York City, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Mountain View. The working model is hybrid, with time split between home and an office location based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Turn strategy and audience insights into strong visual concepts, campaigns, and creative systems.
  • Work closely with copy and strategy partners from the beginning to shape briefs and develop ideas together.
  • Set the visual direction of projects while remaining hands-on throughout the creative process.
  • Create and art direct work across brand, marketing, social, video, events, and experiential formats.
  • Ensure ideas are executed with care, quality, and consistency rather than only being directed from afar.
  • Help translate the brand into physical spaces, activations, and live experiences that people can remember.
  • Keep the standard of craft high by refining details and improving the work at every stage.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, producers, and other stakeholders to bring concepts to life.
  • Present creative concepts confidently and explain both the thinking and the execution clearly.
  • Coach and support designers while helping raise the overall quality of the team’s creative output.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 8 years of experience in design, art direction, or other creative roles.
  • A BA/BS degree in design, marketing, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both strong ideas and excellent execution.
  • Comfort moving between concept development and hands-on design work.
  • Strong visual judgment, taste, and attention to detail.
  • A distinct point of view with the ability to work across different formats and styles.
  • Background in creating creative work for events, activations, or experiential campaigns.
  • Ability to translate ideas into spatial, environmental, or immersive brand experiences.
  • Experience working with copy, strategy, and marketing teams.
  • Confidence in presenting and defending creative decisions.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding designers.
  • A high bar for craft and a mindset focused on improving the work, not just completing it.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $125,000 to $195,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as skills, experience depth, certifications, and work location. The overall package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and other incentive compensation programs.

Additional Information

The organization is committed to fair pay practices, equal employment opportunity, and an inclusive workplace. Applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, citizenship, or any other protected status.

Reasonable accommodations are available for candidates with disabilities during the job search, application, or interview process. Examples may include materials in alternate formats or read aloud, accessible interview locations, the presence of a service animal, or a sign language interpreter. Accommodation requests are generally addressed within three business days; however, requests unrelated to disability accommodations, such as application follow-up, may not receive a response.

The employer also states that it will not retaliate or discriminate regarding compensation discussions as protected by applicable law. Qualified candidates with arrest or conviction records will be considered under the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
