About the role
LemayMichaud is a multidisciplinary team of 135 professionals working from offices in Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa. The firm is driven by a shared enthusiasm for shaping memorable spaces where architecture and design work together to create a strong impact on people’s lives.
This Ottawa-based role offers the chance to take part in every stage of project delivery. You will contribute to the preparation and drafting of technical documentation for a wide range of project types and scales, including multi-residential, urban, institutional, commercial, hotel, spa, and industrial work.
Key responsibilities
- Track technical objectives throughout the course of projects and help ensure they are met.
- Carry out site surveys and produce drafting work.
- Prepare, develop, and review specifications and technical drawings for both preliminary and working-stage documents.
- Review shop drawings and technical datasheets, then add comments and annotations as needed.
- Identify technical issues and work through practical solutions.
- Gather reference material on existing buildings, such as plans and reports.
- Assess drawings and documentation to confirm compliance with applicable regulations.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams to coordinate across disciplines.
- Research products and support architects in choosing suitable materials.
- Assist in building construction budgets and development cost estimates.
- Help coordinate construction documentation and site administration files.
- Participate in site monitoring when interested in doing so.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate holds a college diploma in architectural technology and brings 3 to 8 years of experience as a technologist. Strong Revit skills are essential.
They should also be comfortable working independently and demonstrate solid problem-solving ability, attention to detail, strong organization, and good interpersonal skills. Above all, the firm is seeking someone who is enthusiastic about the work and enjoys contributing to high-quality projects in a collaborative environment.
