About the Company
Pivotal Conversations operates some of Australia’s most visually polished podcast studios and helps creators, entrepreneurs, and executives produce content that stands out, earns strong organic reach, and builds memorable brands. Over the last year, the team has been quietly producing YouTube channels for several of Australia’s leading podcasts and is now bringing that work into the open.
The Opportunity
This position is for a highly skilled YouTube editor who can handle both long-form podcast episodes and purpose-built YouTube content for creators. The work is centered on retention-focused editing: keeping audiences engaged from the opening frame through the entire video, with a polished pace and efficient turnaround. If you are equally comfortable with watch-time strategy and motion graphics, this role is built for you.
Key Duties
- Shape long-form podcast episodes and standalone YouTube videos so they maintain viewer attention throughout.
- Use retention-driven editing methods such as rhythm control, smart cutting, b-roll placement, and compelling hooks to improve watch time.
- Develop polished motion graphics that add value to the content and strengthen the brand identity.
- Deliver edits quickly without sacrificing quality, as turnaround speed is an important part of the role.
- Partner with strategists and creators to translate each video’s direction into a finished product.
- Keep up with evolving YouTube formats, trends, and editing approaches that support channel growth.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 3 years of experience editing content specifically for YouTube.
- Proof of work showing videos that have generated at least 50,000 views and contributed to channels growing beyond 50,000 subscribers.
- Strong ability in retention editing and a clear understanding of what keeps viewers watching.
- Capability in motion graphics, beyond basic editing cuts.
- The ability to work quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Confidence working independently, taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
- A commitment to quality and a willingness to push for strong creative outcomes.
