Role Overview

For the earliest possible start date, DB InfraGO AG is looking for a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) for one of the following locations: Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz. The position is based in an operational rail yard environment and focuses on the safe movement and coordination of shunting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure shunting movements are carried out safely and on time at the mechanical signal box in Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or the Zeitz shunting yard.
• Set up the complete route for train departures, including switches, tracks, and signals, so departures can take place securely.
• Stay in regular contact with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.
• Issue, receive, and pass on operational messages as well as timetable-related information.
• Monitor the rail infrastructure and arrange track closures whenever disruptions occur.

Profile

• You already work as a Weichenwärter:in and bring strong knowledge and practical experience with mechanical interlocking systems, or you are prepared to develop this expertise.
• You are dependable, highly responsible, and able to act correctly and professionally even under pressure.
• You are punctual and approach operational tasks with technical competence and sound judgment.
• You meet the operational fitness requirements for the Weichenwärter:in role.
• You are willing to work shifts, including night, weekend, and public holiday duties.
