Warehouse Assistant [Fresh] - Operations, Shared Business

Role overview

This position supports day-to-day warehouse operations for fresh produce and other inventory flows in a busy logistics environment. The role involves handling inbound and outbound tasks, maintaining order accuracy, and keeping the warehouse organized and compliant with operating procedures.

Key duties

• Carry out routine warehouse work covering inbound receipt, sorting, put-away, outbound picking, packing, release, material movement, and housekeeping.
• Accept fresh produce deliveries at the inbound dock.
• Complete a daily early-morning expiry check before pick operations begin.
• Verify item quality, quantities, and expiry dates during both receiving and release processes.
• Pick customer orders exactly according to the pick list.
• Store products in the correct WMS-designated locations.
• Pack items in line with standard operating procedures.
• Take on additional warehouse-related tasks as required by operational needs.

Requirements

Applicants should have at least a Secondary School education or Nitec in Supply Chain Management, or another relevant field. Prior experience of around 3 months in warehouse, fresh, or supply chain operations is preferred. The work takes place in cold and frozen zones, so comfort working in low-temperature warehouse areas is important. Candidates must be able to lift loads of up to 15 kg and work on a rotating schedule, five days a week including weekends. A solid grasp of logistics or e-commerce operations is an advantage. A valid WSQ Certified Forklift License, WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification, or experience operating a reach truck will be beneficial.
