Role Overview

Sprout is a global provider of IT hardware retirement services for hyperscale and enterprise organizations. Using a nationwide operating model, supported by an international partner network and proprietary technology, the company delivers end-to-end IT asset disposition services with a strong emphasis on data-bearing devices, from client environments through cloud-related workflows. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sprout also operates near Sacramento, Dallas, and Boston. Its service portfolio includes IT Asset Disposition, Certified Destruction, and Responsible Recycling.

Founded in 2014 as an electronic waste startup in a Duke University dorm room, Sprout has grown by more than 66% on average each year. The company emphasizes three core values: One Sprout, Deliver Excellence, and Integrity Matters, and operates with a strong focus on speed, accountability, and ethical service delivery.

The organization is hiring a detail-focused, highly organized, and proactive Downstream Vendor (DSV) Management Associate to join its Compliance team. This position oversees the complete lifecycle of downstream vendors and ensures that vendor activity remains aligned with R2v3 standards. The role acts as the main compliance contact for vendor relationships, managing onboarding, documentation, audit coordination, and ongoing record accuracy in support of responsible IT asset disposition.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding for all newly added downstream vendors and confirm that required compliance documents are collected and validated.
  • Coordinate annual vendor recertification and routine update processes.
  • Support both domestic and international vendor relationships.
  • Keep compliance records complete and accurate in SharePoint and ERP platforms.
  • Research and identify potential new vendors that fit business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Act as the main compliance liaison for vendors, including audit coordination and review of submitted documents.
  • Assist with external audits by organizing vendor-related materials in line with R2v3 expectations.
  • Ensure vendor files remain current, accurate, and ready for internal review or external audit.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify vendors, bring them onboard, and assess their performance.
  • Use internal systems such as SharePoint, Monday.com, ERP tools, and Microsoft Office applications in daily work.
  • At times, review data and reports in Power BI and Metabase to track vendor compliance status.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in vendor management, compliance, or a mix of both.
  • Strong organizational ability with careful attention to detail and document accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional tone.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Monday.com, and ERP systems.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic familiarity with ITAD, electronics recycling, or reverse logistics, or a willingness to learn.
  • Understanding of R2v3 is considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This is a self-managed role that calls for initiative, discipline, and the ability to drive work independently while collaborating with compliance and sales teams as needed. The position can be remote, hybrid, or office-based depending on candidate location and the company’s setup. Travel may be required up to 25%, including occasional visits to vendor sites and attendance at audits or compliance-related events.

Equal Opportunity

The employer provides equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion, national origin, ancestry, nationality, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally protected status, except where a lawful bona fide occupational qualification applies.
