Role Overview
The Transporter supports patient care by following all hospital and department procedures. The role involves moving patients safely and promptly while handling basic transport-related equipment and supplies correctly, including catheters, tubes, monitors, oxygen, and other devices.
Key Duties
- Carry out transport tasks in line with hospital and departmental policies.
- Move patients safely and on time.
- Use proper handling methods for catheters, tubes, equipment, monitors, and oxygen.
- Greet patients and introduce yourself before transport.
- Provide clear and appropriate information to patients and staff about the transport process.
- Maintain daily transport records and logs.
- Keep transport equipment clean and ready for use.
- Continue building and maintaining the skills needed to perform the job well.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- No prior experience is required.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of date of hire or transfer.
