Role Overview

Form Ghana Limited, a sustainability-focused forestry company, is looking for disciplined, safety-minded people to work as Tractor Operators in its plantation operations.

This position suits practical, alert individuals who can run machinery effectively in a forest harvesting environment. The selected person will contribute to extraction work by operating tractors responsibly, following safety rules, and working in line with established operating methods.

Job Details

Job Title: Tractor Operator

Locations: Berekum, Bono Region and Akumadan, Ashanti Region

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of the extraction crew during harvesting work.
• Use the tractor control systems to engage and regulate the winch equipment fitted to the machine.
• Study the ground conditions and decide how the tractor should move along extraction paths.
• Protect standing trees by planning routes that avoid unnecessary damage to trees and access roads.
• Provide the Harvesting Supervisor with hourly updates on extraction output.
• Maintain clear communication across all members of the extraction team.
• Operate harvesting tractors in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.
• Work toward daily production goals and report progress to the Harvesting Supervisor.
• Spot mechanical problems in the field and notify the Harvesting Supervisor immediately.
• Carry out daily and weekly maintenance of the harvesting tractor according to the approved schedule.
• Complete daily machine inspection checklists accurately.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules during harvesting operations.
• Handle any other tasks that fall within your skills and capacity.

Eligibility and Requirements

• Hold a valid Class E driver’s license.
• Be capable of leading an extraction team.
• Have at least a Junior High School (JHS) certificate.
• Be physically and mentally fit for field-based work.
• Demonstrate good eyesight and depth perception.
• Have a valid NHIS card and Ghana Card.
• Possess an SSNIT number.

Preferred Competencies

• Ability to operate tractors and similar forestry equipment safely.
• Working knowledge of tractor upkeep and basic fault diagnosis.
• Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Comfortable working outdoors in difficult weather and field conditions.
• Good physical stamina for demanding operational tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
• Dependable, disciplined, and proactive work style.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• Capable of working under pressure and meeting output targets.
• Experience with heavy-duty, agricultural, or forestry machinery is an advantage.
