Role Overview
The organization is hiring a Test Automation Developer for its Chennai location. The position calls for strong Python/Core Java expertise along with practical experience in automated testing. The candidate should be capable of building automation solutions and frameworks independently, working as a strong individual contributor, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a complex delivery environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement test automation solutions for large-scale software and data-related systems.
- Build automation frameworks from the ground up and enhance existing testing setups when needed.
- Write complex SQL queries and develop test scripts to support validation and defect analysis.
- Perform data warehouse testing, data profiling, gap analysis, source-to-target mapping validation, and data issue resolution.
- Work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams and managing dependencies.
- Contribute to Agile and Scrum-based delivery cycles, including DevOps-driven testing practices and continuous integration.
- Use collaboration and tracking tools such as ADO and Confluence in day-to-day work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python or Core Java and automated testing tools.
- Ability to create automation solutions and frameworks from scratch.
- Solid knowledge of data warehouse testing, SQL, and testing-script development.
- Experience with DevOps, BDD automation frameworks, and continuous integration.
- Comfortable working in Agile delivery teams and Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, learning, and organizational abilities.
- Experience handling dependencies and multiple stakeholders in a large, complex deployment setting.
- Certification in software testing such as ISTQB is preferred.
- Familiarity with multiple automation tools and methodologies is an advantage.
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL is preferred.
