About the Company
The employer is an AI-first insurance platform that is rethinking core claims infrastructure in one of the world’s largest industries. Established in 2024, the business crossed high seven-figure ARR in its first year and is expanding at about 50% month over month. It already supports thousands of claims for major enterprises and has raised more than $50M in funding, including a Series A led by Bessemer after an oversubscribed seed round from Founders Fund. Its investors include the same backers who supported early teams at OpenAI, Cursor, and Ramp. The team combines engineers from Optiver, DRW, Scale AI, and Palantir, along with AI researchers who publish at NeurIPS and ICML, and competitors from ICPC and Olympiad backgrounds.
Role Overview
This position is the second hire on the Strategy and Operations team and works closely with the CEO to create structure, clarity, and operational efficiency across the systems that manage claims at scale. It offers early ownership, exposure to company-wide decision-making, and a path toward leading a key business function and eventually building a team around it.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead special projects and strategic workstreams in close collaboration with the CEO.
- Help build, document, and improve claims operations as the company grows, including process setup, workflow design, and hiring support.
- Create scalable, metrics-led operating processes that improve both product performance and business execution.
- Drive cross-functional problem solving with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
- Move between varied and high-priority projects, bringing structure and momentum to ambiguous situations.
Candidate Profile
The company is looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in MBB consulting, investment banking, private equity, or strategy and operations at a top-tier startup. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively across functions and quickly earn trust from teammates, customers, and partners. This role suits a strong operator who performs well in fast-paced, uncertain, and high-growth environments.
Preferred Experience
- Early entrepreneurial exposure such as a startup role, founding experience, a side project, chief of staff work, or an early-stage biz ops position.
- Recent experience at a well-known high-growth startup, ideally in the Series A to C stage.
- Demonstrated ability to create structured systems in situations where little formal process existed before.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary in the range of $100,000 to $150,000, with some flexibility.
