Sourcing Engineer

Role Overview

AUSA Medical Devices Private Limited is hiring a Sourcing Engineer for its Bommasandra, Bengaluru facility. This role sits within the Supply Chain department and supports a business focused on developing smart, effective, patient-centric medical device solutions.

The position is part of the site supply chain function and works closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep procurement, costing, schedules, and production priorities on track while helping deliver quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and drive sourcing initiatives that improve productivity, reduce lead times, generate savings, and support dual sourcing where needed.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery parameters.
• Work with limited technical supervision and coordinate efficiently across multiple program priorities.
• Develop working knowledge of machining, fabrication, and related commodities, with a focus on first-pass yield and supply chain sustainability.
• Collaborate with regional procurement teams to standardize and classify similar parts and product families.
• Apply category strategies for metals, plastics, outsourcing, and other new sourcing requirements.
• Support engineering and sourcing efforts for global mobile mapping operations as part of a broader engineering team.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure active communication with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Understand manufacturing business needs and support sourcing of raw materials and machining suppliers.
• Contribute to procurement and costing activities, including materials, labor, and operations.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, process management, systems, and logistics-related tasks.
• Review and respond to emails and assigned tasks accurately and on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with suppliers on month-end statements, product deliveries, and outstanding accounts payable.
• Follow company policies, handbook rules, and updated internal regulations.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in supplier development along with practical exposure on the shop floor.
• A graduate engineer in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of experience in any manufacturing industry.
• Experience in issuing RFQs and finalizing pricing based on prevailing market rates.
• Good understanding of market operating prices across different manufacturing commodities.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, injection molding, extrusion, and medical industry requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with good computer knowledge.
• Ability to work with employees, managers, customers, and internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organizational and planning ability, including prioritization, multitasking, self-management, and deadline discipline.
• Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and detailed records.
