About the Role
Ping is a venture-funded consumer app based in New York City that helps people find smarter ways to spend, shop, and enjoy the city. The team is hiring a Social Media Manager to lead the brand’s public-facing content across TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms.
This position is best suited to someone with a strong background in B2C marketing who understands short-form video, internet culture, and how to translate product ideas, city life, pop-up moments, creator content, and user behavior into posts that feel natural, entertaining, and culturally relevant.
The role is hands-on and end-to-end rather than a simple scheduling or calendar management job. The person in this seat will be expected to shape strategy, test content concepts, work with creators, capture live event content, oversee editing, measure results, and keep improving based on what performs well.
New York City is preferred for this role.
Compensation is a base salary of $85,000 to $120,000.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall social strategy for Ping across TikTok, Instagram, and other consumer-focused channels.
- Design repeatable content themes centered on NYC spending, lifestyle, local pop-ups, social behavior, and product-related moments.
- Plan, film, edit, or direct short-form video content.
- Collaborate with creators, interns, and internal teammates to keep content production consistent.
- Attend Ping events, pop-ups, and local activations to capture fresh content on site.
- Develop a distinctive social voice and visual identity for the brand.
- Review content performance and use insights to improve hooks, formats, publishing cadence, and audience growth.
- Stay on top of consumer trends, creator-led content, and emerging formats across TikTok, Reels, and similar platforms.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in social media, content, growth, or brand marketing, preferably with a B2C consumer brand, app, marketplace, lifestyle company, or startup.
- Strong familiarity with TikTok, Instagram Reels, short-form video, memes, and internet-native storytelling.
- Ability to take content from concept through execution, rather than only handling posting or publishing.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup setting.
- Good instinct for consumer-facing content and brand tone.
- Experience working with creators, UGC, events, or community-based campaigns.
- Comfort being on camera.
- A background as a content creator or a personal account with strong growth is a plus.
