Ship Broker - Dry

Role Overview

This is a full-time, in-person Ship Broker position in Ludhiana focused on dry segment chartering. The role centers on connecting vessel owners with charterers, identifying suitable freight opportunities, and helping achieve commercially efficient shipping solutions.

What You’ll Do

You will track market movements, prepare freight guidance, manage fixtures, and keep strong working relationships with clients, ship owners, and other industry contacts. The position also calls for reviewing shipping routes, freight levels, and commodity movement patterns, then turning that information into clear market updates for clients. In addition, you will work with internal teams to ensure contracts are executed smoothly and that service standards remain high.

Skills and Background

The role calls for solid brokerage and trading capability, especially in negotiating and closing chartering transactions. Experience with freight, shipping logistics, charter party terms, and international trade is important, along with awareness of commodity markets and broader global trade flows related to dry bulk. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to analyze market information, use digital tools effectively, and stay accurate while working in a fast-moving commercial setting.

Preferred Qualification

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Economics, or a similar field is preferred. Practical industry experience is considered a strong advantage.
