Role Overview
Virtusa is hiring an experienced ServiceNow professional to work from Chennai on a full-time, on-site basis. The role focuses on ServiceNow development and configuration, particularly within the HR Service Delivery (HRSD) module and scoped applications, while also supporting complex enterprise integrations and platform upgrades.
Core Responsibilities
The position involves building and maintaining ServiceNow solutions that connect with multiple systems and support business operations end to end. The selected candidate will handle development work across integrations, platform features, and production support activities.
Experience and Technical Scope
Applicants should bring at least 8 years of ServiceNow development experience, including configuration work in the HRSD module and scoped applications, ideally gained in partnership or consulting environments. The role also requires over 8 years of broader technology experience supporting complex applications with multiple integration touchpoints.
Hands-on exposure to integrations is essential, including REST API-based connectivity and batch file feed integrations through MID Servers. Working knowledge of Virtual Agent and NLU is expected, along with familiarity with Agent Workspace, Advanced Work Assignment, and application upgrades.
Strong development capability is needed in JavaScript, JSON, Java, and API programming. Experience with SSO and mutual-authentication security is considered an advantage. Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, or relational database development is desirable.
The role also values experience with test-driven development, agile practices, and related tools, plus familiarity with all stages of the system development lifecycle, including production support. The ideal candidate should be highly analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
Soft Skills and Working Style
Excellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are important. The candidate should be creative, resourceful, service-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work extended hours, including support during ServiceNow release weekends, is required.
