About the Opportunity
Deloitte is hiring a Senior Analyst for its Auckland Transactions team. This role sits within a well-established transactions practice that supports professional growth, offers a collaborative atmosphere, and works on matters that have real commercial impact. The position suits someone who enjoys complex problem-solving, analytical work, and partnering with both clients and internal stakeholders.
As a Senior Analyst, you will contribute to transactions work by turning data and analysis into practical recommendations. The role calls for strong judgment, a structured approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
About the Team
The Transactions team brings together specialists across financial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions advisory, debt advisory, turnaround and restructuring, as well as valuations and modelling. The team is known for its proactive mindset and for delivering practical, forward-looking solutions to clients across a range of sectors.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out detailed financial analysis and modelling to support commercial decision-making.
- Contribute to transaction engagements across sectors such as healthcare, consumer business, technology, financial services, and manufacturing.
- Work in smaller teams alongside senior colleagues by preparing analysis, drafting deliverables, joining client discussions, and helping ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Support and review the work of junior team members to help maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Build productive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with a background in professional services, investment banking, or a similar environment, ideally with experience in transactions, corporate finance, or external audit. You should be commercially minded, highly attentive to detail, and comfortable working with complex datasets in Excel.
An interest in using artificial intelligence tools is important, along with strong organisational and project management abilities. The role also requires clear written and verbal communication, adaptability, and the ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment.
