Overview
Pinnacle Group is hiring an experienced School Caretaker to help keep a school site safe, clean, secure, and fully operational. The role sits within the Facilities Management team and is suited to someone who is hands-on, methodical, and confident in handling everyday maintenance and site-support duties.
This is a permanent full-time position based at Clacton County High School in Clacton-On-Sea, England, United Kingdom. Working hours follow an alternating rota of 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

What you will do
- Protect the security of the school buildings and grounds by carrying out opening and closing duties, patrols, and monitoring activity on site.
- Complete routine daily tasks such as litter collection, bin emptying, and sweeping in line with the site schedule.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks according to the school timetable and your own skill set.
- Support contractors and service providers on site by granting access, escorting them, and assisting with remedial or maintenance work where needed.
- Handle minor repairs and small decoration jobs.
- Investigate reactive maintenance issues, make temporary or permanent fixes when possible, or escalate to management for specialist support in line with procedures and deadlines.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and take action to resolve issues on a temporary or permanent basis as required.
- Assist with porterage requests, parcel collection, furniture moves, and room reconfiguration.
- Carry out weekly drain and gully checks, plant room inspections, plant changeovers, monthly shower head sterilisation, and patch or scheduled painting work.
