Job Summary
The Sales Associate will support the assigned hypermarket section by helping shoppers, keeping shelves well presented, checking stock levels, and contributing to day-to-day store activity. This position calls for strong customer handling, solid product awareness, and a cooperative approach to keep operations running smoothly and customers satisfied.
Customer Service
- Help shoppers find products and respond to their questions in a courteous manner.
- Deliver a positive service experience while maintaining a helpful and welcoming attitude.
- Share information about current deals, special promotions, and highlighted products.
- Address routine customer issues and escalate more serious matters to the supervisor when needed.
Store Floor Operations
- Organize merchandise and restock shelves and display units as needed.
- Make sure items carry the correct pricing and barcode labels.
- Keep track of expiry dates and flag any damaged or expired stock.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly section at all times.
- Ensure all displays remain full, attractive, and ready for customers.
Inventory and Stock Support
- Assist with the receipt and verification of incoming stock.
- Work with the warehouse or stock team to arrange replenishment.
- Support stock counts and inventory checking activities.
- Inform the supervisor about low inventory or fast-selling items.
Operational Support
- Adhere to company rules, safety practices, and store procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors and colleagues to meet sales and operational goals.
- Help set up promotional, seasonal, and event-related displays.
- Carry out additional store-related tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification.
- Prior work in retail, supermarket, or hypermarket environments will be considered an advantage.
- Strong communication ability and a customer-focused approach.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Physically able to remain on foot for extended periods.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
