Role overview
This position is part of the Food and Beverage & Culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite. The role focuses on delivering excellent guest service by serving food and drinks, coordinating with kitchen staff, and keeping the dining area organized and ready for service.
Key duties
- Deliver food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Arrange tables in line with event type and service standards.
- Assist guests with menu-related questions and help them choose items.
- Stay in contact with the kitchen about menu questions, preparation delays, re-cooks, and item availability.
- Relay special meal requests, allergies, dietary restrictions, and other guest preferences to the kitchen.
- Enter orders into the MICROS system when orders are taken.
- Check in with guests during service to confirm satisfaction with food and beverages.
- Keep service areas, china, glassware, and related spaces clean throughout the shift.
- Handle closing tasks such as restocking supplies and switching off lights.
- Present accurate bills and complete guest payments.
Service and workplace standards
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures at all times.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and follow uniform standards.
- Safeguard confidential information and company property.
- Greet guests warmly, recognize their needs, and provide assistance to guests with disabilities when needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and guests.
- Build positive working relationships and contribute to team goals.
- Meet quality and service standards consistently.
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
Physical requirements
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods or for an entire shift.
- Lift, move, carry, push, and pull objects up to 25 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
- Move safely on slopes, uneven or slippery surfaces, and on stairs or service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Perform additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
