Role Overview

This position is the main delivery lead for an assigned construction project. You will be accountable for head contract management, on-site design and construction coordination, and commercial outcomes. Working with the site, commercial, and engineering teams, you will help deliver the program, manage claims and extension of time matters, and keep the project aligned to quality, safety, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle head contract duties, project correspondence, and contractual notices across the full project lifecycle.
• Track, assess, and submit head contract variations and client claims.
• Prepare extension of time submissions and support them with delay analysis and up-to-date project records.
• Work with the commercial team to meet all contract deadlines and SOPA obligations.
• Oversee design coordination on site, guide the engineering team, and manage consultant responses to RFIs.
• Administer subcontract variations and claims in coordination with the CA and Senior CA.
• Maintain client communication and provide regular reporting on project status and progress.
• Run project meetings, monitor the site programme, and make sure site teams remain aligned with scope and schedule.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of project management experience in building construction, with proven delivery of projects worth $50 million or more.
• Strong working knowledge of head contract administration, variation handling, claims, and EOT processes.
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field.
• Exposure to design-and-construct delivery methods would be an advantage.
• Confident leader with strong organisation skills and the ability to stay calm and decisive under commercial and programme pressure.
• Ability to manage client expectations and escalate issues appropriately to the Project Director.
• Strong coordination skills across site, commercial, and engineering functions.

This is a full-time fixed-term contract for 18 months based in Tasmania, Australia.
