Job Summary

Provide occupational therapy services to patients, maintaining positive interactions with facilities and clients in accordance with occupational therapy principles and organizational guidelines. This includes screening and evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, managing discharge planning, supervising assistants and technicians, and handling case management. Adherence to all state and federal regulations governing occupational therapy practice is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation.
• Optimize patient functionality through occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, and treatment.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Foster effective, patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary team members, and facility staff.
• Refer patients for treatment to occupational therapy assistants and provide consultation and clinical supervision.
• Directly supervise occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Participate in utilization review, care conferences, case management, and interdisciplinary team activities.
• Develop and enhance occupational therapy programs, techniques, and services to achieve quality outcomes.
• Uphold environmental safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and patient rights policies.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development to enhance clinical expertise.
• Maintain a valid state Occupational Therapist license.
• Understand and apply relevant payment models and treatment guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality of organizational, facility, and patient information.
• Conduct yourself in an ethical, legal, and professional manner at all times.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Possess a valid state Occupational Therapist license, where applicable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic internet navigation.
