PROM12 is a private equity fund focused on growth and buyout opportunities within the German mid-market technology landscape, especially IT, software, and tech businesses. As an entrepreneur-led investment firm, the team supports companies in evolving into leading national and international champions. The firm draws on long-standing experience as founders, operators, and investors in IT, software, and technology. Its investors, including entrepreneurs and family offices, understand that durable growth takes time and commitment.

The team is currently looking to strengthen its investment function in Munich as soon as possible with a Private Equity Analyst (m/f/d). PROM12 is actively supporting portfolio companies in their organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, while also sourcing additional investment opportunities through its second fund.

Role Overview

In this position, you will join the investment team and contribute across the full investment lifecycle. You will own multiple workstreams and help with both the strategic and operational development of portfolio companies, as well as the preparation and execution of exit processes. The role offers a chance to work in an entrepreneurial private equity environment with broad exposure to transactions and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Research markets and sectors across IT, IT services, and software in the DACH region to identify potential investment targets, while building relationships with M&A advisers and industry specialists.
• Support due diligence by preparing investment committee materials, coordinating external workstreams, conducting expert interviews, analyzing customers and markets, building LBO models, and preparing meetings with founders, advisers, and partners.
• Work closely with portfolio companies by coordinating communication, carrying out strategic and operational analyses such as benchmarking, and preparing for and attending board meetings.

Candidate Profile

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree with strong academic performance.
• Initial exposure gained through internships or up to two years of professional experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate M&A, transaction services, and/or consulting.
• Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work well in a team.
• Solid financial modeling capability.
• Strong analytical thinking for assessing markets and business models, along with a strong interest in technology.
• A solid understanding of economic and commercial interdependencies.
• Excellent spoken and written German and English.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
