Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Qatar for a Piping Engineer responsible for engineering design, technical review, and site support for glass-reinforced and HDPE piping systems used in industrial projects. The role requires close coordination with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure engineering outputs align with project requirements and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material take-offs.
- Provide technical support to installation teams and help resolve engineering issues raised on site.
- Inspect work progress and confirm compliance with manufacturer instructions and relevant standards, including ISO 14692.
- Work with project stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions match project specifications.
- Contribute to project planning, risk reviews, quality assurance activities, method statements, and work procedures.
- Support commissioning activities and assist with mechanical completion documentation.
- Coordinate across multiple disciplines and provide timely technical reporting.
- Maintain strong attention to safety, quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Solid experience in GRP, GRE, FRP, and HDPE piping design, layout, and installation practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and 3D models accurately.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools.
- Experience in project coordination, including planning, scheduling, resource handling, and coordination with construction and quality teams.
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and codes, such as ISO 14692 and ISO quality management systems.
- Ability to ensure alignment with client requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills for design changes and site challenges.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for multicultural project environments.
