About the Role
This temporary one-year payroll position is based in Bonndorf, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. You will be responsible for running payroll accurately and on schedule for designated employee groups while following all applicable labor, tax, and social security rules. The role also serves as a main point of contact for employees, HR, and outside partners on payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out monthly payroll processing on time and in line with local labor, tax, and social security requirements.
- Keep employee payroll records current, including base pay, bonuses, allowances, deductions, and benefits.
- Respond to payroll questions from employees and provide guidance on payroll, tax, and social security topics.
- Make sure absences, overtime, sick leave, parental leave, and other legal entitlements are handled correctly.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and outside payroll vendors or public authorities.
- Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including audits and required statutory filings.
- Protect payroll data, maintain confidentiality, and comply with data protection rules.
- Help improve payroll procedures and related documentation over time.
Qualifications
- You should have completed vocational training or hold a degree in Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Several years of hands-on payroll processing experience are required.
- You need strong knowledge of payroll-related labor law, tax, and social security regulations.
- Experience with ADP is an advantage, and prior involvement in implementing new payroll systems is also beneficial.
- Accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality are essential in this role.
- You should bring strong analytical and organizational abilities, plus a careful eye for detail.
- Comfort with payroll systems and MS Office, especially Excel, is expected.
- Good written and spoken communication skills in both English and German are needed.
- A team-focused, service-oriented approach with the ability to work independently is important.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is EUR 65,000 to EUR 75,000 per year. The final offer will depend on experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions, business needs, and location.
