Patient Transporter

Job summary

This role is responsible for moving patients, equipment, supplies, and other materials between departments throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior experience of 0 to 1 year in a hospital environment is preferred.

Licenses and certifications

Employees assigned to the Emergency Center must complete Crisis Response Training within 6 months of joining, and this is required.

Core duties and expectations

• Follow attendance and punctuality standards set by the hospital and department.
• Carry out work in a way that reflects the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.
• Complete assigned tasks and any additional duties according to departmental procedures and policies.
• Keep knowledge current in areas of responsibility through self-study and participation in ongoing training.
• Attend team meetings and finish all mandatory in-services, competency checks, and required training on schedule.
• Provide care and support competently for patients of all ages, sexes, weights, and varying needs.
• For non-clinical settings, use age-appropriate customer service practices after completing the required training.
• Wear protective clothing and safety equipment whenever the situation calls for it.
