Role Summary

This position focuses on patient meal service for assigned units. The work includes helping with menu selections, assembling trays, delivering and collecting meals, handling special requests, and providing snacks or other food items between meals. You will also help ensure that patient nutrition needs are communicated clearly and that diet orders are followed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient meal service tasks on assigned units.
• Support menu selection, tray preparation, meal delivery, and tray pickup.
• Handle special meal requests and patient-specific food needs.
• Provide food delivery between regular meal times when needed.
• Share patient food concerns, issues, and requirements with departmental team members.
• Coordinate with nursing staff regarding nutrition-related needs and diet requirements.
• Respond promptly to changes so meal service remains timely and modified diets are followed correctly.

Qualifications

Education preference includes a high school diploma or GED. No prior experience is required, although six months of previous food service work in a hospital environment is preferred. No licenses or certifications are required.
