Patient Access Specialist

Role overview

Option Care Health is a major U.S. provider of home and alternate site infusion services, supporting patients across all 50 states. In this role, you will help patients move smoothly into Specialty Infusion Services by managing referrals, intake materials, and communication across internal and external partners.

What you will do

• Work with patients, referral sources, sales, pharmacy, and nursing teams to coordinate discharge planning and arrange nursing and delivery support.
• Prepare, share, and collect the documentation needed for new referrals.
• Help secure patients’ upfront payments and guide them toward financial assistance options when needed.
• Support clean-claims and denial-management work by following up on missing paperwork and related issues.
• Assist supervisors and managers with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Experience and qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. You should also have at least 2 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate can handle several referrals and priorities at once, stays organized in a fast-moving environment, and maintains a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Excellent customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and work effectively with sales and operations teams. Experience in healthcare or medical billing is preferred.
