MYP Coordinator

Overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA), a newly accredited IB World School in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced MYP Coordinator to lead and enhance the Middle Years Programme. This role is vital for maintaining high standards in teaching, learning, and programme integrity in alignment with IB guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the planning, execution, and continual evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme following IB criteria and best practices.
• Coordinate the IB authorisation and evaluation processes, managing self-study and serving as the main point of contact with the IB organization.
• Support and mentor MYP teaching staff to deliver the curriculum effectively, including unit design and assessment techniques.
• Oversee key programme components such as the Personal Project, service as action activities, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skill integration.
• Lead the moderation and standardisation of MYP assessments across all subjects to ensure consistency.
• Manage preparations for eAssessment and external moderation submissions.
• Organize MYP-specific continuous professional development sessions and promote engagement with Nord Anglia University resources.
• Communicate MYP expectations, progress updates, and outcomes clearly to parents and the broader school community.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid teaching qualification with classroom experience in an IB MYP setting.
• Completion of IB MYP training at Category 1 or 2 levels.
• Comprehensive understanding of MYP curriculum frameworks, assessment standards, eAssessment requirements, and the Personal Project.
• Familiarity with IB programme standards, practices, and authorization procedures.
• Previous experience in a coordinator or curriculum leadership role within an IB context is advantageous.
• Strong organisational, communication, and coaching abilities.
• Dedication to child safeguarding and welfare promotion.
• International school experience, particularly in the Middle East, is preferred.
