Role Overview
The Market Development Representative will focus on creating new business opportunities through outbound calling and targeted email outreach to prospective customers. The role involves qualifying leads by asking thoughtful questions about the prospect’s business goals and then positioning Docusign’s solutions to match those needs. Around 80% of the role is spent on the phone prospecting. The position includes practical training in strategic selling and account research, and it offers strong exposure to a fast-growing SaaS environment. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Market Development Representatives.
Responsibilities
- Reach out by phone to prospects within Docusign’s core verticals and present solutions tailored to their business process challenges.
- Book meetings for prospects with Account Executives across SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments.
- Maintain accurate information in the CRM and use it to uncover additional opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Partner with the marketing team on email and LinkedIn outreach initiatives that help build company and personal brand visibility.
Job Designation
This role follows a hybrid work model, where time is split between office and remote work. Access to an office is required, with an in-office expectation of at least 2 days per week; the exact schedule may vary by team. Docusign assigns roles as In Office, Hybrid, or Remote based on the position, and preferred designations are not guaranteed when moving between roles. The company may adjust the designation as business needs and local laws allow.
Requirements
- A university degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
- At least 2 years of outbound sales experience.
- Prior exposure to the SaaS industry is preferred.
- A motivated, energetic, and hardworking approach.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
