About the opportunity
Amentum is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Planner Scheduler for its Alice Springs, Northern Territory site in Australia. Role overview
In this position, you will build and track maintenance work schedules so that staff, time, and site resources are used effectively. You will also help arrange the permits and access approvals needed to carry out maintenance safely and on time.
Key duties
- Use the site CMMS to plan maintenance work activities.
- Review and monitor resource availability so detailed schedules can be created for both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Prepare the paperwork needed to access equipment and systems that require maintenance.
- Study performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with internal teams and outside stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Keep CMMS records accurate, current, and consistent.
- Stay adaptable and flexible while meeting planning and scheduling goals.
- Support the creation and upkeep of SAP PM plans, task lists, and strategies.
- Promote and follow site health, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and experience
Preferred qualifications include Certificate IV in Business Administration, a certificate in planning and scheduling activities, or a trade qualification. At minimum, applicants should have prior experience in a planning and scheduling role, hands-on experience with SAP and Microsoft Office, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work environment
This role is based in a standard office setting with no unusual hazards. The work may involve occasional lifting up to 10 kg, kneeling, standing, and walking, along with regular sitting. The position also requires frequent use of speech and hearing for communication, sustained mental alertness, and the ability to work to deadlines.
Eligibility and work requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and fluent in spoken and written English. Candidates must be either Australian citizens or United States citizens. Australian citizens must be able to obtain the relevant security clearance, and U.S. citizens must hold a TS/SCI clearance or be able to obtain the appropriate level of security clearance, depending on the role. Employment is also conditional on meeting the required security and medical clearance standards. This position is open only to candidates who can meet these citizenship and clearance requirements.
Pre-employment checks
Selected applicants will need to complete referee checks, criminal history screening, a pre-employment medical examination, and a drug test.
Health, safety, and compliance
All personnel are expected to understand and follow site environmental, health, and safety requirements. Employees must complete tasks safely, report unsafe situations to the relevant supervisor or manager, follow the handbook’s EHS procedures throughout their work, and exercise stop-work authority if a job appears unsafe or harmful to the environment.
