Role overview
This position is based at St Ives Bay Beach Resort in Hayle, Cornwall. The role can be offered on either part-time or full-time hours and is a permanent contract. The salary is £26,509 per year, pro rata where applicable.
The role is focused on keeping accommodation and the wider holiday park in excellent condition, with repairs, upkeep, renewals and improvements across the site. That includes everything from the main entrance sign to the back fence.

What the role involves
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager to keep everything on the park in safe working order.
- Carrying out carpentry work such as repairing doors, windows, kitchen units, walls, floors, roofs, gutters and signage.
- Handling landscaping tasks, including paving and fencing work.
- Moving and positioning caravans, along with external plumbing tasks.
- Completing painting, decorating and tiling duties.
- Managing general maintenance work, from changing light bulbs to fixing locks and cutting keys.
- Performing checks and repairs on changeover days and coordinating with other trades when required.
- Taking on a wide range of practical jobs to resolve issues quickly and restore order for guests and staff.
Working pattern
As holiday parks operate most actively during holiday periods, this role requires flexibility to work bank holidays, evenings and weekends.
Skills and experience needed
Training will be provided, but applicants should already bring relevant practical experience and a strong approach to hands-on maintenance work.
- Prior experience in building maintenance and carpentry in a similar setting.
- Ability to complete domestic repair and upkeep tasks such as tiling, painting and lock repairs.
- Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in the workplace.
- Good educational background, ideally GCSE level or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and think through problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a friendly manner and a helpful attitude.
- High enthusiasm and a consistently high standard of workmanship.
Preferred but not essential
- Experience in the hospitality sector.
- Background working in a holiday park environment.
