About the role
TELUS Health is focused on helping people live healthier lives by improving access to care through technology and individualized healthcare experiences. The organization is building a more connected healthcare journey for Canadians and is looking for a service-oriented team member to support that mission.
This position is based in downtown Toronto and is an in-clinic role. The schedule is part time with an estimated 22.5 hours per week.
What you'll do
- Gather laboratory samples and prepare specimens for courier collection.
- Carry out blood collection procedures.
- Perform urine dipstick testing.
- Prepare FIT kits for pickup.
- Prepare Pap smear samples for pickup.
- Complete DOT and non-DOT drug tests and handle the related documentation.
- Administer vision, hearing, and spirometry assessments.
- Arrange outside referrals and communicate with other medical offices when needed.
- Provide assistance to physicians as required.
- Keep exam rooms and changing rooms organized, clean, and stocked with supplies and toiletries.
- Prepare patient files before scheduled appointments.
- Register and discharge patients, including payment collection.
- Support the front desk between lab appointments to cover breaks.
- Place orders for clinic medical supplies.
- Take on additional administrative tasks as needed.
What we're looking for
- A post-secondary diploma in medical laboratory technologies.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
- Current experience and certification in vaccine handling and administration in line with Ontario Health requirements.
- The ability to work on your own with limited supervision while maintaining excellent patient care.
- A professional approach, respect for privacy, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Interest in preventive health and patient education, along with a desire to grow.
- A proactive mindset, strong efficiency, attention to detail, accountability, and sound judgment.
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Comfort working under pressure and handling time-sensitive work with urgency.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

This role requires the ability to support both clinical and administrative work in a busy in-clinic environment. The ideal candidate should be dependable, adaptable, and comfortable balancing patient-facing responsibilities with operational tasks.
