Junior Stock Controller

Role overview

The Junior Stock Controller will help keep warehouse and Container Freight Station (CFS) inventory records accurate. This position focuses on monitoring cargo, stock, and container movements, making sure data is entered on time, documents are properly maintained, and operational reports are reliable. The role also supports both internal operations and customer-related needs.

Inventory control and stock management

• Keep inventory records current and accurate for all cargo and stock stored in the warehouse.
• Log and monitor every receipt, issue, transfer, and movement of stock or cargo.
• Make sure system balances match the physical stock on hand.
• Track stock levels and warehouse occupancy.
• Check cargo quantity, packaging condition, and identification details.
• Support correct stock segregation and space allocation.
• Assist with stock reconciliation activities.
• Watch for ageing stock and flag any differences or irregularities.

Cargo tracking and documentation

• Enter cargo transaction details accurately and without delay.
• Maintain movement registers and stock control logs.
• Check inbound and outbound cargo paperwork for completeness.
• Ensure dispatch and receipt records are properly completed and filed.
• Track cargo status and share updates with operations teams and customers when needed.
• Keep records for container stuffing and destuffing.
• Support end-to-end cargo traceability across warehouse processes.
• Prepare VGM creation as required.

Stock verification and reconciliation

• Carry out daily stock inspections and cycle counts.
• Take part in scheduled physical stock counts and inventory audits.
• Look into stock shortages, variances, and other discrepancies.
• Reconcile physical quantities with system records.
• Report damaged, missing, or unidentified cargo immediately.
• Support corrective actions after inventory issues are identified.
