Role Overview
The IT Engineer will be responsible for administering, supporting, and maintaining the company’s technology environment. The role focuses on keeping systems, servers, networks, hardware, and software secure, dependable, and efficient so day-to-day business work can continue smoothly and users remain productive.
IT Infrastructure Management
- Set up, configure, and look after IT systems, servers, hardware, and software.
- Maintain strong performance, uptime, and reliability across the technology stack.
- Keep an eye on system health and address technical problems before they affect operations.
Network Administration
- Administer LAN/WAN environments and network security tools.
- Diagnose connectivity problems and support consistent network performance.
- Maintain devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Technical Support
- Deliver first-line and second-line support to internal users.
- Handle IT service requests and close incidents within agreed service levels.
- Route complex issues to senior colleagues or external vendors when needed.
System Maintenance & Security
- Carry out software updates, patching, backups, and routine maintenance activities.
- Apply and monitor cybersecurity controls to safeguard systems and data.
- Work in accordance with IT policies, standards, and security procedures.
IT Operations & Projects
- Assist with deployments, upgrades, and rollouts of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Coordinate technical support and installations with vendors and service providers.
- Contribute to IT projects and process improvements.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track system performance, uptime, and security notifications.
- Keep clear records of IT assets, incidents, and resolutions.
- Prepare reports and suggest ways to improve efficiency and reliability.
