Role Overview

This position is for a Civil Engineering instructor responsible for delivering training, supporting course design, and helping maintain high standards in technical education.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and security requirements, policies, and directives at all times.
• Support the Chief Instructor with course planning, development, and delivery activities.
• Report on learner progress and performance to the Chief Instructor.
• Conduct classroom and workshop instruction across civil engineering topics.
• Create, develop, and evaluate courses using the Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
• Use coaching and corrective training methods when needed to improve graduation rates and assessment results.
• Act as both primary and backup instructor for classroom and workshop sessions.
• Manage training time effectively across all duties.
• Track and safeguard equipment, supplies, and computers, ensuring they remain properly maintained.
• Prepare, update, and enhance teaching materials such as lesson plans, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Participate in conferences, workshops, demonstrations, and other education or training programs assigned to stay current with instructional methods and training technology.
• Assist fellow faculty members in carrying out their responsibilities.
• Protect the confidentiality and security of company information.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Chief Instructor or the Director, Technical Training School.

Experience and Education

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Graduation from a recognized school or military training program in Mechanical Engineering is also preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience teaching engineering or construction subjects is required.
• At least 2 years of military experience is considered an advantage.
• The candidate must have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE driving license.

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or ISO 10015 is an added advantage.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare studies, briefings, or doctrinal content, are an advantage.
• Ability to analyze needs and build performance-based lessons and training plans is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
