Initial Medical Service Driver

Role overview

This is a permanent full-time driving position based in Connacht, with work carried out across the Mayo area and the wider region. The working week is 39 hours, and the salary is €29,800 per year, paid monthly.

In this role, you will visit customer sites to collect and remove hazardous waste materials. The job combines driving, manual handling, and customer-facing service.

Key duties

• Travel to customer premises and service hazardous waste containers, including sharp bins, poisons, dental waste, and similar items.
• Load and unload bins and units as part of a hands-on daily routine.
• Keep the assigned vehicle roadworthy, safe, and well cared for at all times.
• Follow safe-driving guidance and company standards while on the road.
• Deliver professional, high-quality customer service during every visit.
• Maintain a polished and trustworthy company image while representing the business.

Driver requirements

• Hold a full Irish driving licence for at least two years.
• Have no more than six penalty points on the licence.
• Be comfortable with physically demanding work involving lifting and moving containers.
• Possess strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Be adaptable with work patterns to meet business requirements.
• Use initiative and bring a positive, proactive attitude to the job.
• Be willing to undergo a DBS check if required for the specific position.
• An ADR certificate is advantageous, though it is not mandatory.
