Job Summary
We are looking for an Infra Dev Specialist with deep experience in LogicMonitor and Splunk to build, improve, and run enterprise monitoring and observability solutions for a global environment. The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams, strengthening platform reliability, automating routine work, and turning monitoring data into practical insights that support better uptime and smoother operations. This position follows a hybrid work setup with rotational shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and roll out scalable monitoring setups in LogicMonitor to keep essential infrastructure available and performing well across data center and cloud systems.
- Set up, tune, and manage Splunk observability capabilities, including data ingestion, dashboards, and alerts, so incident and problem teams receive timely insights.
- Create automation scripts and reusable components for monitoring deployment, configuration, and upkeep to reduce manual work and improve consistency.
- Work with application, infrastructure, and security stakeholders to understand monitoring needs and convert them into LogicMonitor and Splunk configurations that meet enterprise standards.
- Investigate difficult issues in monitoring flows, such as data collection problems, noisy alerts, and inaccurate dashboards, and drive lasting corrections.
- Refine alerting approaches to reduce false alarms and improve early detection of real incidents, helping lower detection and resolution times.
- Prepare clear documentation for monitoring designs, runbooks, and standard procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuity across shifts.
- Partner with service owners during releases and platform changes to confirm monitoring coverage and onboard new services into LogicMonitor and Splunk promptly.
- Review infrastructure performance and event trends to spot capacity concerns, reliability gaps, and optimization opportunities that support continuity and cost efficiency.
- Help ensure monitoring setups, logs, and dashboards meet internal compliance requirements and external regulatory expectations.
- Provide coverage in a hybrid, rotational-shift model for monitoring operations and incident support while working effectively across regions and time zones.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by assessing new LogicMonitor and Splunk features, suggesting enhancements, and leading small proof-of-concept efforts.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve advanced product issues and align with recommended practices for LogicMonitor and Splunk.
Requirements
- 7 to 8 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure monitoring, with strong, proven expertise in deploying and administering LogicMonitor in enterprise settings.
- Advanced knowledge of Splunk, including data ingestion, forwarder setup, search creation, dashboards, alerts, and infrastructure observability apps.
- Good understanding of network, server, database, and cloud infrastructure concepts to define meaningful metrics and alerts that represent service health and user experience.
- Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python for automating monitoring work, integrating external systems, and simplifying operational tasks.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret large monitoring and log datasets, identify root causes, and suggest practical fixes.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with distributed teams, documenting procedures, and influencing monitoring practices.
- Comfort working in a hybrid model and rotational shifts while maintaining reliability, accountability, and focus on service-level objectives.
- Preferred certifications: LogicMonitor Certified Professional, Splunk Certified Power User, or Splunk Certified Administrator.
Additional Information
