HVAC Engineer

Job Summary

An experienced Site HVAC Engineer is needed to direct and oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning works on construction sites. The role focuses on making sure installations are carried out in line with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable regulations, quality expectations, and the agreed project timeline, while working closely with consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC installation activities on site and confirm they match approved drawings, specifications, and contract obligations.
• Examine HVAC shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate HVAC work with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection teams.
• Carry out site checks to assess ductwork, piping, insulation, equipment placement, and workmanship quality.
• Track contractor progress and make sure HVAC work stays aligned with the project schedule and milestones.
• Confirm proper installation of HVAC equipment such as chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, ventilation systems, exhaust systems, and ductwork.
• Ensure all work follows local rules, international standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Review and witness testing, balancing, commissioning, and functional performance activities for HVAC systems.
• Prepare and assess inspection requests, test reports, snag lists, punch lists, and handover documents.
• Take part in coordination meetings and provide technical input and status updates.
• Review as-built drawings and verify completed HVAC works before handover.
• Assess technical variations, change orders, and on-site modifications when needed.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, approvals, test outcomes, and site progress.
• Support successful commissioning and final handover of HVAC systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience supervising HVAC work on construction projects.
• Background in commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, or infrastructure developments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ventilation, smoke extraction, and building services.
• Good knowledge of local and international HVAC codes, standards, and accepted engineering practices.
• Professional engineering registration or a relevant accreditation is preferred.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Able to review HVAC drawings, shop drawings, calculations, and technical submittals.
• Knowledge of HVAC testing, adjusting and balancing, commissioning, and QA/QC processes.
• Experience with project management and document control tools is an added advantage.
• Strong site supervision and coordination ability.
• Clear communication and strong stakeholder management skills.
• Strong technical reasoning and analytical problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality.
• Good time management and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Team-oriented with leadership capabilities.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.

The position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time, onsite opportunity. The role does not mention salary, perks, number of openings, application deadline, or start date.
