Role overview
This remote contract opportunity is for an HTML/CSS Quality Assurance Lead who will oversee output quality, consistency, and reviewer/trainer performance across HTML/CSS AI training initiatives. The position focuses on checking AI-generated HTML/CSS work and reviewing trainer or QA contributions to make sure everything aligns with project rules and quality expectations.
You will assess whether submitted work is semantically correct, visually logical, accessible, responsive, compatible across browsers, well structured in CSS, maintainable, performant, formatted properly, and faithful to instructions and project rubrics. The role calls for strong frontend markup and styling knowledge, clear English communication, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to coordinate quality workflows with distributed technical teams.
This is part of a rapidly growing AI data services organization that produces training data for major AI companies and foundation model labs. Your leadership in HTML/CSS quality will help keep frontend training data accurate, accessible, responsive, well explained, and aligned with client needs.
The selection process includes an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and a recruiter interview. There is no immediate project currently available for this position, but qualified candidates may be contacted first when matching opportunities arise and may also gain access to future projects through the expert network.
Responsibilities
- Review HTML/CSS tasks, identify quality concerns, and share written feedback directly with contributors while escalating repeated or serious issues.
- Evaluate AI-produced HTML/CSS snippets, layout work, accessibility fixes, responsive solutions, debugging responses, and explanations for accuracy and clarity.
- Keep contributors informed on Discord about guideline updates, workflow changes, and review expectations specific to HTML/CSS work.
- Answer questions on semantic HTML, accessibility, ARIA, CSS specificity, layout behavior, flexbox, grid, responsive design, browser compatibility, and rubric interpretation.
- Re-engage inactive trainers and QA contributors, monitor follow-ups, and surface availability problems.
- Build and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding resources.
- Lead onboarding and training sessions for HTML/CSS contributors.
- Identify inaccessible, misleading, invalid, fragile, or non-production-ready frontend recommendations and flag them for review.
- Strengthen QA operations by spotting recurring quality gaps and creating scalable review processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, UX/UI, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on frontend experience.
- Strong command of English for following instructions, coordinating with teams, and delivering precise technical feedback.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in HTML/CSS, frontend development, accessibility, responsive design, UI implementation, code review, QA, or technical mentoring.
- Deep understanding of semantic HTML, forms, tables, ARIA basics, accessibility, CSS selectors, cascade and specificity, box model, flexbox, grid, positioning, responsive layouts, media queries, animations, and modern CSS features.
- Ability to assess HTML/CSS against detailed rubrics and catch issues such as invalid markup, inaccessible components, weak responsiveness, layout defects, overly complex CSS, specificity conflicts, browser compatibility problems, or incomplete explanations.
- Familiarity with browser DevTools, Lighthouse, WCAG basics, Sass, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, CSS modules, design systems, Figma handoff, GitHub, CI/CD, and frontend build tools is an advantage.
- Prior experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, frontend engineers, designers, coding mentors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- Comfort working in fast-paced remote environments with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project management tools.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage style guides, trackers, FAQs, onboarding docs, honeypots, calibration tasks, and quality documentation.
- Background in AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, frontend code QA, accessibility review, or rubric-based code review is a major plus.
