Role overview
The Cleaning Crew Team Member is responsible for helping deliver a positive customer experience by maintaining a clean and orderly environment throughout the store or facility.
Key duties
- Carry out routine cleaning and upkeep tasks in line with company procedures and approved cleaning products.
- Use and maintain commercial floor-cleaning equipment properly.
- Move reasonably portable items so floors, corners, edges, and hidden areas can be cleaned thoroughly.
- Report damage, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues to the direct supervisor.
- Refill supplies such as soap, paper goods, and other consumables as needed.
- Use the biometric timeclock system to record work hours in Paycom.
- Provide daily photo updates by text message and email once cleaning is finished.
- Take on other assigned duties as needed.
Reporting line
This position reports to the Account Director.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is required.
- Strong punctuality and dependable attendance are essential.
- A trustworthy attitude and strong work ethic are expected.
- Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Availability is needed between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am.
- Flexibility is important, as hours may change based on business needs.
Physical requirements and work setting
- Work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to lift or move more than 50 pounds is required.
- Clear oral communication with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is necessary.
- Regular use of a smartphone and email is part of the role.
- Good hearing and vision are needed for everyday conversation, receiving instructions, and reviewing documents.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks may be needed.
- The work may take place in a warehouse, retail, grocery, or distribution warehouse environment.
- Must be willing to work different shifts when business demands change.
