Full Stack Engineer

Role overview

Our client is a fast-growing software business working in a tightly regulated sector and is looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join the engineering team on a contract assignment. The position involves helping shape and deliver a modern cloud-based SaaS product, adding new functionality and improving existing features in a collaborative, high-velocity environment.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of software features from early requirements gathering through to release in production.
• Develop robust backend components using current .NET technologies.
• Create polished, responsive web interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Work closely with architects, technical leads, product owners and other engineers across the full development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical discussions and help guide architectural choices.
• Produce code that is clean, maintainable and properly tested, following engineering best practices.
• Connect the application with cloud services, APIs and external systems as needed.
• Help improve development workflows, tooling and overall software quality.
• Assist with debugging, issue resolution and performance tuning.
• Support agile delivery and help ensure successful launches of new product features.

Experience needed

• At least 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Background delivering features end-to-end in live production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Experience in cloud-hosted application environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with limited supervision.
• Previous experience in agile development teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, along with stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice-to-have skills

• Building and supporting multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Deep experience with React and TypeScript.
• Understanding of modern front-end structure and state management.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.
• Experience with ORM tools and data access layers.
• Knowledge of cloud identity and authentication systems.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Awareness of DevOps practices and cloud-native design patterns.

Education

A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent third-level qualification, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field is required. Technical certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
