The Opportunity
Adobe is looking for a front-end engineer to join its Product Engagement Systems engineering group on the Photoshop team in San Jose. This role offers the chance to contribute to a high-impact initiative shaping the future of digital experiences while working with a diverse, collaborative team.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in TypeScript, CSS, and build systems, along with the ability to independently create, troubleshoot, automate, and verify complex client-side applications.
Key Technical Focus Areas
Programming Languages and Module Systems
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with React and/or Web Components.
- Good understanding of CSS fundamentals such as layout, styling, and debugging.
- Working familiarity with ES modules, plus a basic understanding of CommonJS.
- Experience with modern build tools such as Vite or Webpack.
- Ability to debug using browser developer tools and application logs.
- Exposure to CI/CD processes such as Jenkins and log analysis tools such as Splunk.
Front-End and LLM Integration
- Experience connecting to LLM or AI service endpoints through REST APIs.
- Comfort handling streaming responses, asynchronous workflows, UI refreshes, and MCPServers.
- Ability to build straightforward AI-assisted user experiences.
CSS and Styling Systems
- Strong command of CSS concepts including cascade, specificity, and inheritance.
- Familiarity with Node.js-based build pipelines.
- Experience working within Jenkins-driven CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation
The U.S. pay range for this position is $114,100 to $214,950 per year. Pay depends on the work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. For California, the listed range is $148,500 to $214,950. For non-sales roles, starting pay is handled as base salary, with short-term incentives through the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Some roles may also qualify for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
